Shawnah Carman was raised on a working cattle ranch in Putnam County, Missouri. Shawnah advanced to Meredith Manor, Equine College, in Waverly, West Virginia, where she studied horse training. She then attended Oklahoma Horseshoeing School in Oklahoma City.

She is a life-long professional horsewomen with a world class impressive background. She has worked for World Champion Quarter Horse Trainers and she was part of the staff at Wilsonville Oregon Veterinarian Clinic.

Shawnah excelled in Cowboy Mounted Shooting. Taking Second Place in her division at the World Competition in 2000. Experience and skills include Western Pleasure, speed events, rodeo, mounted drill team, barrel racing and long trail rides.

She has worked as a Ring Stweard for the APHA sanctioned shows here in AZ, managed by Arizona Paint Horse Club since 1997. Thus keeping her abreast of all the changes and needs of the modern show world.

Teachingn about the Equine back is one of her loves, she has been teaching Saddle Fitting seasonally for the Yavapai College since 1998 to present.

Shawnah is a certified Western Instructor, certified in comprehensive lesson plans and safety skills, certified by, "Certified Horsemanship Association" of Tyler, TX.

She received her Equine Massage Therapy Alternative Health Studies at Yavapai College in AZ.

She apprenticed for five years under Greg Jacobs in Oregon, a custom saddle maker and gifted saddle-fitter. Shawnah then studied with Cliff Ensley in Idaho, a master saddle maker before starting her own custom saddle shop named "Fire Horse Tack", located in Paulden, Arizona from 1997 to 2009 and now located in Dillon MT.

In 2008, Shawnah was a featured speaker at the Equine Affaire along with other world-famous equine specialists such as Monty Roberts. Shawnah spoke on her favorite subject, saddle-fitting.
